Plaza Mayor

The series Plaza Mayor is based on open spaces and on the multiple plane, being the human figure the unifying element, with its consequent effects of disembodied full of expression. This is perhaps the distinctive feature and on the other hand, exceptional of Plaza Mayor, where the name is a mere geographical reference who leaves the main role on the characteristic geometric paving and on the human element (and its consequent play of shadows). The series is built around a fixed point of capture and the spatial recession is enhanced by the light distribution, uniform and flat, except for the entire grid colorful dots represented by pedestrians, wrapped on daily nature. These people, that arise in the field of the cobbled square, are the absolute actors in this series. These fleeting glances, casual meetings, games, laughter, aesthetic enjoyment, a day of hard work, small talks: the essence of these neighbors, children, tourists, street musicians, students and city employees, among others, represent masterfully a customary cityscape full of human interactions.
